Shuddup.com Launches during BET Hip Hop Awards Festivities
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE!!!
Social Lifestyle Blog, Shuddup.com, Launches during BET Hip Hop Awards Festivities covering Entertainment News, Celebrity Gossip with a strong focus on the Community, Social & Political Issues
Atlanta, GA: October 5, 2009 –In an age where most blog founders are branding themselves behind-the-scenes and “on the scene,” the newest social lifestyle site to hit the internet, Shuddup.com, was created by entertainment veteran, Greg Johnson, and an undisclosed group of individuals based in Los Angeles, New York and Atlanta. The anonymity of the Shuddup.com creators gives the blog an opportunity to report on the entertainment industry news without restriction. Shuddup.com will highlight topics in music, television, film and fashion with an additional focus on social awareness, politics and the community. According to Shuddup.com blogger K.I.M, “the term “shuddup” can be a positive or negative, depending on the context,” for example, “Mike Vick served his time, let him play & shuddup,” or “Did you see what Kanye’ did? Kanye’ needs to go somewhere and shuddup!” K.I.M along with other Shuddup.com bloggers plan to deliver celebrity gossip and news, often times directly from the source, based on over 20 years of the founders’ collective experience working within the inner circles of the entertainment industry.
Beyond the mass “celebrity” appeal, Shuddup.com has a mission to bring awareness to social and political issues by partnering with community-based organizations. The Secret Life blog will be dedicated to youth ages 13+ with feature blogs written by teens associated with The Dangerous Minds Project based in Houston, Texas and The Hip Hop 4 Life program based in New York City. The blog will serve as an outlet for the youth to have open dialogue about issues they are facing on a daily basis as it relates to sex, drugs, family and their future. Other community-based blogs to be featured on Shuddup.com include Generation Wreck, which is a blog dedicated to parents and other authority figures dealing with today’s youth, providing a platform for them to directly face relevant issues with our youth in today’s society, and Get the Word Out will serve as an informative tool and community message board to post information on upcoming events, including HIV Testing, Blood Drives, Back to School Supply Drives and more.
Shuddup.com will celebrate its official launch with an event sponsored by Interscope Records on Monday, October 12th at Tongue & Groove in Atlanta, GA the party will be hosted by Doug E Fresh, with guest celebrity DJ Erick Sermon of EPMD a performance by Interscope artist Verse Simmons and appearances by numerous celebrities, entertainment industry tastemakers and media.
